Many teens engage in risky, self-destructive behaviors related to alcohol and drugs, sexual activity, and gang involvement, which greatly affects their academic achievement and personal growth. Students can receive one-on-one sessions with Mattie Rhodes therapists in a school setting to address many of these challenges.

Our goal is to tend to issues affecting the behavioral health of youth with the philosophy that when these needs are met, students can focus, leading to increased academic achievement.

Counseling

Masters-level clinically trained school social workers are housed at multiple local schools, working with children and youth of all ages on a variety of issues ranging from drugs, gangs, behavior problems, and academics, to family issues, pregnancy, depression, and bullying.

Service Coordination

The service coordinators help link students with resources and services in the areas of education assistance, health care, family support, and employment, and work closely with the school and family.
